Job summary

CareChoice in Clonakilty is seeking a part-time Activities Assistant to plan and deliver engaging activities for residents, 30 hours per week including weekends.

You will support nursing staff, manage the activity calendar, and ensure safety and person-centred care with a collaborative approach. Benefits include induction training, Garda Vetting, meals, development opportunities and parking.

Qualifications

• Plan and deliver activities to suit the needs of residents.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to provide holistic care.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the nursing staff in providing high-quality holistic care.
• Ensuring the activity calendar is planned in advance.
• Execution of the action plan in an efficient manner.
• Providing a broad range of activities to cater for all needs including both group and individual activities.
• Collaborative approach to activity planning; listening to residents, staff and family.
• Reporting any changes in resident's condition to the trained nurse.
• Escort or transfer residents to aid participation in activities; use manual handling best practice and take direction from Nursing staff.
• Health and Safety Awareness.
• Communication and relationships with all staff, Manager, Residents and Families.
