CareChoice in Clonakilty, Co. Cork, Ireland is seeking an experienced part-time Activities Assistant to provide cover for 30 hours per week, including weekends, at our Clonakilty Nursing Home.

You will plan and deliver a range of activities for residents, support nursing staff, manage the activity calendar, and contribute to a safe, welcoming home where residents can enjoy meaningful engagement.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver activities to suit the needs of the resident.
• Support the nursing staff in providing high-quality holistic care.
• Ensure the activity calendar is planned in advance.
• Execute the activity plan in an efficient manner.
• Provide a broad range of activities to cater for all needs including group and individual activities.
• Collaborate with residents, staff and families for activity planning.
• Report any changes in resident’s condition to the trained nurse.

We require an experienced part -time Activities Assistant in our Clonakilty Nursing Home to provide cover for 30 hours throughout the week, including weekends. We provide the highest standards of home care possible and are looking for someone who can contribute to our high-end service, delivering the best quality of activities for our residents to enjoy and feel comfortable in our home.

Job Summary

Plan and deliver activities to suit the needs of the resident.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the nursing staff in providing high-quality holistic care
• Ensuring the activity calendar is planned in advance
• Execution of the action plan in an efficient manner
• Providing a broad range of activities to cater for all needs including both group and individual activities.
• To take a collaborative approach to activity planning; listening to residents, staff and family.
• Reporting any changes in resident’s condition to the trained nurse.
• The Activity Leader will be escorting or transferring residents to aid their participation in activities employ manual handling best practice and take direction from the Nursing staff
• Health and Safety Awareness
• Communication and Relationships with all members of staff, Manager, Residents and Families.
