Job summary

Comer Group Ireland, a major private landlord in Ireland, seeks a Painter on a full-time fixed-term contract based in Galway. The role involves painting and general maintenance across residential and commercial properties in the Galway area, working with a maintenance team to uphold high standards.

The successful candidate will perform surface prep, paint application, and minor repairs, while following health & safety guidelines. This is a Galway-based position with no long-distance travel.

Qualifications

• Valid Safe Pass is required.
• MEWP certification is preferred or required.
• Experience in painting/decorating is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication are essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out painting, decorating, and minor repair works across Comer Group Ireland properties in Galway.
• Prepare painting surfaces (cleaning, patching, sanding, or removing old finishes).
• Mix, match, and apply paints and finishes with care and precision.
• Protect surrounding areas with coverings and maintain clean workspaces.
• Move furniture or equipment to access project areas.
• Remove and replace light fixtures, fittings, and hardware as needed.
• Operate MEWPs and scaffolding safely.
• Estimate material needs and task duration accurately.
• Communicate with Maintenance and Property Management teams.
• Support colleagues and follow directions from the Maintenance Manager.
• Comply with health & safety standards and Lone Worker Policy.

Comer Group Ireland, one of Ireland's largest private landlords, is currently seeking a Painter for a full-time, fixed-term contract based in Galway.

This role involves delivering high-quality painting and general maintenance work across our residential and commercial properties in the Galway area. The successful candidate will work as part of a skilled maintenance team to ensure properties are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out painting, decorating, and minor repair works across Comer Group Ireland properties in Galway
• Prepare painting surfaces (cleaning, patching, sanding, or removing old finishes)
• Mix, match, and apply paints and finishes with care and precision
• Protect surrounding areas with appropriate coverings and ensure clean workspaces
• Move furniture or equipment to allow full access to project areas
• Remove and replace light fixtures, fittings, and hardware as needed
• Operate Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs) and scaffolding safely
• Estimate material requirements and time for tasks accurately
• Communicate effectively with the Maintenance and Property Management teams
• Support colleagues as needed and carry out tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager
• Comply with company health & safety standards and the Lone Worker Policy

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• Valid Safe Pass
• MEWP certification
• Strong eye for detail and a high standard of work
• Clear and professional communication skills (verbal and written)
• Organised and reliable, with the ability to manage tasks independently
• Prior painting/decorating experience strongly preferred
