Job summary

Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone is seeking a Painter & Decorator to join our Maintenance Team. The role focuses on high-quality interior and exterior decorating to keep guests and staff in a safe, comfortable environment.

You will work weekdays 8:00–4:30, with weekends off, carrying out prep, painting, repairs and maintaining tools. Strong attention to detail and health & safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous painting & decorating experience.
• Good attention to detail and pride in high-quality finishes.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong awareness of health & safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating across the property.
• Prepare surfaces for painting (sanding, filling, priming, cleaning).
• Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper and finishes with appropriate tools.
• Complete minor repairs to walls, ceilings, woodwork and fixtures before decorating.
• Inspect areas and identify redecoration or repair needs.
