Job summary

Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone is seeking a Painter & Decorator to join our Maintenance Team. The role ensures the property is maintained to a high standard, creating a safe, comfortable and well-presented environment for guests and staff.

Hours are full-time, Monday to Friday with weekends off, from 8.00am to 4.30pm. You will work across Hodson Bay properties in the Athlone region, performing painting, decorating and related maintenance tasks to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Experience in painting and decorating or general maintenance.
• Attention to detail with high-quality finishes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
• Reliable, organized and proactive.
• Willingness to work across Hodson Bay properties in the Athlone region.

Responsibilities

• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating across the property.
• Prepare surfaces for painting (sanding, filling, priming, cleaning).
• Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper and other finishes using appropriate tools.
• Complete minor repairs to walls, ceilings, woodwork and fixtures prior to decorating.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify areas requiring redecoration.
• Maintain tools, materials and workspaces in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow all health & safety procedures when using equipment, ladders and materials.
• Work closely with the wider maintenance team on general upkeep and projects.
• Assist with other general maintenance duties as required.
