Job summary

Paediatric Community Nursing in Ireland is seeking a dedicated community nurse to provide one-to-one care for a teenager at home. You will work three fixed days, 8am to 4pm, delivering consistent care and building routines with the family; no nights or weekend shifts.

You will be guided by a Clinical Nurse Manager on each shift and receive full training in paediatric home-care tasks such as tracheostomy care, epilepsy management and PEG feeding.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with active NMBI registration (RGN/RCN/RNID).
• Comfortable working alone in a family home.
• Full driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one nursing in a family home for the same patient on every shift.
• Follow the patient’s routine, know their humour and moods, and respond to needs.
• Receive ongoing support and supervision from the paediatric nursing team.

Job description

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8am to 4pm. One teenager, at home.

There is a 16-year-old in Milltown who lives at home with their family rather than in hospital. That is only possible because a nurse is with them during the day, and we need one more.

This is one-to-one nursing in a family home. You would care for the same young person on every shift, know their routine, their humour and their bad days, and be the person their parents trust enough to go to work.

The hours

• Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8am to 4pm
• 24 hours a week, three fixed days [TO CONFIRM: the days are fixed]
• No nights, no weekends, and the rest of your week is your own

Requirements
