Job summary

Enva is seeking a Packaging General Operative for a 6-month contract in Rathcoole, County Dublin. You will support the packaging division with day-to-day duties, including operating packaging machinery and ensuring compliance with safety and waste licence requirements.

The role involves manual handling, safety-focused tasks, and a readiness to learn through full training. A pre-employment medical may be required and a strong team ethos is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in manual handling.
• Safe Pass is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Process packaging waste, including stacking, wrapping, shredding old and reconditioned materials, and washing IBCs in line with EPA license.
• Load and unload vehicles as required.
• Operate company equipment such as shredders, crushers, and wash plant safely.
• Follow SOPs and waste licence requirements.
• Complete per-shift safety check sheets.
• Report safety concerns and incidents promptly to management.

Packaging General Operative - 6 month Contract

Description

As General Operative, you will play a key role in providing support to the packaging division within Enva, on a day-to-day basis.

Responsibilities in this role are varied. Full technical training will be given for any role that involves a specialist element.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing packaging waste including stacking, wrapping, shredding old and reconditioned materials, & washing IBCs in accordance with our EPA license
• Loading and unloading of vehicles as required
• Operate all company mechanical and electronic equipment safely such as shredders, crushers, and wash plant
• To conduct your duties in accordance with company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the company's waste licence
• To complete per-shift safety check sheets
• To highlight any safety concerns to your manager immediately and to report any accidents/ incidents to your manager immediately
• To report all non-conformances to the relevant personnel and to follow up to ensure compliance requirements are met
• To ensure that housekeeping is kept to a high standard around the site and that all activities comply with health and safety requirements
• To communicate any issues that arise to the Operations Manager/ Supervisor immediately
• To attend plant meetings, company meetings, training courses etc. as required
• To be flexible to carry out other duties as may be requested of your manager from time to time
• To always adhere to the company’s Health and Safety policy and procedures, including wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) at all times
• To provide direct operational support to all areas of the business
