Job summary

RSM Ireland in Portlaoise is seeking an experienced Outsourcing / Accounting Services Manager to lead a diverse client portfolio and drive high-quality financial reporting services. Qualifications

• Experience preparing and/or reviewing statutory financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of FRS 102; IFRS is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage client engagements and build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage portfolio of outsourcing clients and be main point of contact.
• Plan, deliver and review client engagements to meet deadlines.
• Oversee preparation of statutory financial statements and management accounts.
• Provide guidance on accounting and financial reporting matters, including FRS 102.
• Coordinate with tax, payroll and other service lines for integrated services.
• Manage engagement budgets, WIP, billing and resourcing.
• Coach and develop junior team members and contribute to recruitment.

About The Role

RSM Ireland is seeking an experienced Outsourcing / Accounting Services Manager to join our growing team in Portlaoise.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to take responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients while playing an important role in the continued development of our Outsourcing and Accounting Services offering. Working closely with Partners, Directors and colleagues across RSM Ireland, you will manage the delivery of high‑quality accounting and financial reporting services to a diverse range of domestic and international clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of accounting and outsourcing clients, acting as a key point of contact and building strong client relationships.
• Lead the planning, delivery and review of client engagements, ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Oversee the preparation and review of statutory financial statements, management accounts and other accounting deliverables.
• Provide practical advice on accounting and financial reporting matters, including the application of FRS 102.
• Coordinate with colleagues across tax, payroll, company secretarial and other RSM service lines to provide clients with an integrated service.
• Manage engagement budgets, work in progress, billing and resourcing.
• Plan and delegate work across the team and provide coaching, feedback and support to junior colleagues.
• Contribute to the recruitment, development and retention of team members.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, technology and the overall client experience.
• Support business development activities, including proposals, tenders and the identification of opportunities to provide additional services to clients.
• Collaborate with RSM member firms on international and cross‑border client engagements where required.

About the ideal candidate

• ACA, ACCA or an equivalent recognised professional accountancy qualification.
• Approximately three or more years' relevant post-qualification experience, or equivalent experience at Manager level.
• Strong experience in the preparation and/or review of statutory financial statements.
• Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102, with knowledge of IFRS also beneficial.
• Experience managing client engagements and developing strong client relationships.
• Previous experience supervising, coaching or managing team members.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and a proactive, client-focused approach.
• Experience using accounting, financial reporting and Microsoft applications.

Previous experience in an accounting practice, outsourced finance environment or professional services firm would be an advantage.
