Job summary

Sophia Housing Association in Dublin 8 invites applications for a role supporting families in Private Emergency Accommodation Services across Dublin, Kildare and Meath. The post involves daily casework, assessments, liaising with agencies and helping residents move on from homelessness.

Role requires a social care degree, at least 1 year in this client group, understanding homelessness issues, and own transport. Fixed-term, Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm.

Qualifications

• A degree in Social Care/Social Science/Applied Social Studies or related discipline i.e. addiction, social work.
• A minimum of one years’ experience working with this client group.
• An understanding of the issues affecting people who are homeless.
• Must have own transport (essential)

Responsibilities

• To work on a daily basis with families and individuals coming from homelessness and manage a caseload in Outreach Services.
• Liaise with other agencies/authorities on behalf of the families and identify move-on options.
• Provide practical home support, resettlement preparation and ensure records are maintained.
