Job summary

Dunnes Stores, Ireland's largest retailer, seeks an Oracle EBS Technical Analyst to develop, enhance and support Oracle E-Business Suite across Finance and HR. This role sits between development and functional analysis, delivering structured technical designs and reliable solutions.

You will collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders, develop PL/SQL procedures, forms, and BI reports, and support upgrades including payroll changes in a large enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' hands-on Oracle E-Business Suite development experience.
• Strong PL/SQL capability in enterprise environments.
• Experience developing Oracle Forms and custom reports.
• At least 2 years' experience with Oracle BI Publisher (XML Publisher).
• Experience supporting Finance and/or HR modules within Oracle EBS.
• Ability to translate business requirements into structured technical designs.
• Experience supporting live production environments.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Job Description Location: Dublin Business Systems IT Team | Corporate Systems

Our technology landscape reflects that scale. Alongside new digital capabilities being introduced across the business, our core enterprise systems remain critical to day-to-day operations. Oracle E-Business Suite underpins key Finance and HR processes and is a central part of our Corporate Systems estate. This role sits within the Business Systems IT Team, focused specifically on Corporate Systems (Finance and HR).

The Role

The Oracle EBS Technical Analyst is a hands-on technical role responsible for the development, enhancement and support of Oracle E-Business Suite across Finance and HR. This is not a pure developer role and not a pure functional analyst role. It sits between both.

You will

• Work with Business Analysts and functional stakeholders to translate approved requirements into clear technical designs.
• Develop and support PL/SQL, Forms and reporting solutions within Oracle EBS.
• Support integrations and enhancements across Finance and HR modules.
• Contribute to upgrade and implementation work, including ongoing R12 activities and payroll-related changes.
• Support live production systems in a stable but evolving enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oracle EBS Development Design, develop and maintain PL/SQL procedures, packages and database objects.
• Develop and support Oracle Forms and custom components where required.
• Build and maintain Oracle BI Publisher reports, extracts and data utilities.
• Support technical integrations between Oracle EBS and other internal systems.

Delivery & Change

• Participate in upgrade and enhancement initiatives (including R12 and payroll changes).
• Translate business and functional requirements into structured technical specifications.
• Contribute to testing, defect resolution and performance optimisation.

Production Support

• Investigate and resolve technical issues across Finance and HR systems.
• Liaise with Oracle Support, including logging and managing SRs.
• Support controlled releases and occasional planned out-of-hours activities where required.

Experience & Skills Required

• 5+ years' hands-on Oracle E-Business Suite development experience.
• Strong PL/SQL capability in enterprise environments.
• Experience developing Oracle Forms and custom reports.

Desirable (Not Essential)

• Experience with Oracle APEX or JDeveloper.
• Exposure to R12 upgrade work.
• Knowledge of OBIEE, ODI, Discoverer or WebADI.
• Experience supporting payroll processes within Oracle EBS.

Education

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or a related discipline.
