Job summary

Vantage Resources is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator for a 12-month contract in Dublin. The role is hybrid, focusing on maintaining large Oracle and SQL environments, troubleshooting issues, planning upgrades, and optimizing performance.

You will manage backup and recovery (RMAN), RAC administration, and work with Linux, virtualization, and networking technologies. Oracle Exadata experience and OCP certification are desirable.

Oracle Database Administrator – 12 Month Contract, Hybrid, Dublin

What's Involved?

• Supporting and maintaining large-scale Oracle and SQL database environments.
• Troubleshooting and resolving database-related operational issues.
• Planning and implementing database upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
• Monitoring and optimising database performance, availability and reliability.
• Managing backup, recovery and replication processes.
• Implementing best practices for production support and database monitoring.
• Collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver improvements.

What's Needed?

• 5+ years' experience with Oracle Database technologies, including Oracle 10g/11g.
• 2+ years' experience with SQL database technologies.
• Strong experience with Oracle RAC installation and administration.
• Knowledge of performance tuning, data modelling and database optimisation.
• Experience with backup and recovery tools, including RMAN.
• Strong understanding of Linux, virtualisation and networking technologies.
• Ability to work independently and drive continuous improvement.
• Oracle Exadata and open-source technology experience desirable.
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
