Job summary

Cpl Recruitment are partnering with a confidential client to recruit a Database Administrator for their new Irish Centre of Excellence in Dublin. You’ll join a development team building an AI platform, supporting DFIR tooling and data analysis, in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.

Approximately 2 years’ hands-on DBA experience, strong SQL, scripting ability, and cloud familiarity are required. You’ll monitor databases, tune performance, enforce security controls, and document procedures

Qualifications

• 2 years' hands-on experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar data platform/operations role.
• Strong SQL and DBA fundamentals; able to troubleshoot performance issues.
• Exposure to database security practices: privileged access, backup/restore, disaster recovery, data lifecycle management.
• Some scripting ability to automate routine admin and health checks.
• Bonus: familiarity with cloud-hosted relational or analytical data platforms.
• Strong written communication and a methodical approach to change management.
• Candidates must hold Irish/EU Citizenship and live within a commutable distance to Dublin.

Cpl Recruitment are partnering with a confidential client to find a Database Administrator for their new Irish Centre of Excellence in Dublin.

About the Role

You’ll join a development team building out a proprietary AI platform, supporting digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) tooling, data wrangling, and analysis. It's a collaborative, fast-moving setup — the client is scaling quickly, and team members work across feature areas rather than staying siloed.

Key Duties

• Keep production and non-production databases running smoothly — monitoring, optimisation, and day-to-day administration.


• Handle performance tuning, capacity planning, indexing, schema changes, migrations, replication, backup, and recovery.


• Build and maintain security controls: access management, encryption, auditing, retention, and compliance safeguards.


• Document everything that matters — runbooks, architecture, recovery procedures, change records.


• Work closely with engineering, infrastructure, data, AI/ML, and DFIR teams to support safe, well-governed platform changes.

• ~2 years' hands-on experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar data platform/operations role.
