Job summary

Bon Secours Hospital Limerick is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Ophthalmology Theatre to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care in a modern operating suite. The role requires registration with NMBI and acute care experience.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, scrub or circulate, support infection control and contribute to theatre efficiency. This is a full-time position based in Limerick with 37.5 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Be registered, or be eligible for registration, in the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses kept by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• At least 1–2 years post-registration experience in acute care nursing.
• Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.
• Experience of clinical audit and standard setting.
• Promote and practice patient confidentiality and professional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate operating room patients and plans, document clinical nursing care.
• Promote patient-focused care in collaboration with the health care team.
• Maintain a safe clinical environment.
• Assist with ordering of supplies and ensure efficient use of supplies.
• Work with Surgeons to meet surgical requirements and theatre setup.
• Demonstrate infection control practices.
• Be an effective scrub, circulating or anaesthetic practitioner.
• Communicate with relevant departments and support care protocols.
