Job summary

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, is seeking an experienced Operations Leader for the Shannon, Ireland site. You will guide a repair operation, lead a team of supervisors, and drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery and cost while shaping the site’s future strategy.

You will deliver measurable improvements through Lean practices, talent development and cross-functional collaboration with Quality, Engineering and other functions.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• 8+ years' experience in production or operations management within aerospace, manufacturing or other highly regulated environments.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing operational teams and implement continuous improvement.

We are now looking for an experienced Operations Leader to optimize performance at our Collins Aerospace, Aftermarket site in Shannon .

This is a key site leadership position reporting to the General Manager / Accountable Manager with responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the repair station. Collaborating with a team of Production Supervisors, you will create the environment in which our people can perform at their best while delivering against our commitments in terms of Product Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Employee Engagement .

What You Will Do

Lead and Develop Team Members

You will provide visible, hands-on leadership across the repair operation, creating a culture built around accountability, collaboration, respect and continuous improvement.

You will:

• Take responsibility for repair personnel and collaborate with other functions to support the site's performance & business targets.
• Deputize when required, for the Workshop Manager
• Build a high-performance and highly engaged culture where people feel empowered to contribute, challenge and improve.
• Set clear expectations and drive accountability for operational performance in your area of responsibility.
• Identify talent and development needs, creating opportunities for professional growth across the team.
• Maintain the competence of maintenance personnel by continually identifying training gaps within the team and maintaining appropriate skill sets.
• Ensure accurate and timely team time submissions across area of responsibility.

Own Operational Performance

You will be responsible for achieving output, quality, efficiency, safety targets within your area of responsibility.

You will:

• Develop and execute production plans in area of responsibility.
• Drive performance against key measures including on-time delivery, quality, productivity, and cost .
• Monitor and analyse operational KPIs, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Forecast resource, capacity, and capability requirements to support production demand and future growth.
• Drive disciplined execution of daily Lean management, including tiered accountability meetings, visual management, and leader standard work.Take rapid corrective action where performance falls short of plan.

Champion Continuous Improvement

Continuous improvement will be central to your leadership approach.

You will take ownership of CORE continuous improvement initiatives , creating and sustaining an improvement strategy aligned with the wider objectives of Collins Aerospace and RTX.

This will include:

• Identifying, prioritising, and delivering continuous improvement projects across the operation.
• Using Lean and CI methodologies including Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen and Root Cause Analysis .
• Working cross-functionally to remove bottlenecks, eliminate waste and streamline repair and production processes.
• Engaging employees at all levels in identifying and implementing better ways of working.
• Tracking the impact of improvement initiatives against agreed KPIs.
• Delivering measurable improvements in productivity, quality, cost and operational performance.
• lead improvement events using the company's continuous improvement program, CORE.

You will be a change leader , helping to bring people with you implementing improvement projects and initiatives.

Put Safety, Quality and Compliance First

Operating within a regulated aerospace environment means safety, quality and compliance are fundamental to everything we do.

In your area of responsibility, you will be responsible for ensuring maintenance standards are achieved in accordance with Part 145.A.65 and approved maintenance data.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Maintaining a strong, proactive safety culture across the operation.
• Ensuring the correct handling, identification and tagging of parts and units throughout the repair process.
• Ensuring tools are appropriately controlled, segregated, preserved, and maintained in serviceable condition.
• Maintaining documentation integrity and ensuring maintenance entries, forms and work orders are correctly completed.
• Ensuring continuity of repair activity when personnel, shifts or assignments change.
• Ensuring satisfactory completion of customer work in accordance with approved data, procedures, and quality standards.
• Completing agreed corrective actions arising from Quality Audits within required timescales.

You will contribute to strategic planning, capacity and resource forecasting and operational improvement, ensuring the Shannon operation is positioned to respond to changing customer requirements and future growth opportunities.

What You Will Bring

We are looking for an established operations leader who combines strong people leadership with a passion for operational excellence.

Ideally, you will bring:

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration or a related discipline. An advanced degree would be advantageous.
• 8+ years' experience in production or operations management within aerospace, manufacturing, MedTech, or another highly regulated environment.
• Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing operational teams.
• Strong experience delivering continuous improvement within a manufacturing, production, or repair environment .
• Practical knowledge of Lean and CI methodologies with evidence of delivering measurable improvements in cost, productivity, quality, or delivery.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification would be advantageous.
• Strong project management capability and experience delivering improvement programmes from concept through to implementation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• The ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships across different functions and levels of an organisation.
• Strong SAP and Microsoft Office skills.
