Job summary

Novax Recruitment Group seeks an experienced Site Health & Safety Advisor/Manager for a permanent role in Clonmel, County Tipperary. The role focuses on embedding safe working practices on structural steel projects and providing practical guidance to site teams and subcontractors.

You'll influence H&S across a growing steel operation, promote a strong safety culture, and ensure compliance with Irish legislation and project requirements.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent safety qualification.
• Experience in construction/H&S roles on site.
• Strong knowledge of Irish H&S legislation.
• Ability to prepare RAMS and risk assessments.
• Experience with site inspections and audits.
• Understanding of working at height and lifting operations.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day H&S support across structural steel projects.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance checks.
• Develop and review RAMS and risk assessments.
• Support management with CDM and H&S requirements.
• Monitor safe systems of work during steel erection and related activities.
• Advise on working at height, lifting operations and crane use.
• Manage subcontractors to ensure H&S standards are met.
• Lead toolbox talks, inductions and safety briefings.
• Investigate accidents and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor H&S performance and identify improvement areas.
• Collaborate with project teams and senior leadership to foster safety culture.
• Assist with client audits and maintain H&S documentation.
