Job summary

Elk River Independent School District 728 is seeking an on-call Substitute Site Leader for Community Education. The role supervises children, organizes activities, and handles program logistics to ensure a safe, engaging experience.

You will greet families, manage check-in/out, coordinate registrations, monitor snacks, and support enrichment instructors. Requires high school diploma, 2,000 hours with elementary children, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required.
• Must be 18+ and have reliable transportation.
• Two thousand hours of elementary-age child care experience.
• Training in child development, health, safety, and nutrition.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to organize records and activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children at program sites to ensure safety and quality learning.
• Plan and maintain age-appropriate activities and supplies.
• Greet families and check in/out children; maintain attendance records.
• Manage on-site registration and coordinate with Community Education.
• Maintain snacks inventory and supply logistics.
• Assist instructors and set up classrooms for enrichment classes.
• Lead chaperone on field trips to ensure safety.
• Ensure students are in correct classes and locations.
• Supervise staff or volunteers to ensure safety.
• Support plans for children with special needs to participate.
• Communicate with coordinators, managers, staff and parents to run programs smoothly.
• Promote programs to parents and staff; highlight benefits.
• Attend required trainings (Bloodborne Pathogens, Right-to-Know, First Aid/CPR).
• Attend staff development to improve knowledge and skills.
• Follow policies for quality and consistency.
• Other duties as assigned.
