Job summary

Allied Health/Nursing is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Children’s Disability Network Team in Longford. This role involves supporting children with disabilities to achieve independence and participation in daily activities.

Qualifications

  • CORU registration (or eligibility for registration) is required.
  • Knowledge of sensory processing, developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, and physical disabilities is desirable.

  • Recommend assistive equipment and environmental adaptations.

Job description

We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) based in Longford.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and multidisciplinary team providing high-quality services to children and young people with a range of developmental, physical, sensory, and complex needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping children achieve greater independence and participation in everyday activities across home, school, and community settings.

The Role

As part of the CDNT, you will:

  • Complete comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs
  • Develop and implement individualised intervention plans tailored to each child’s goals
  • Support children in areas including:
    • Fine and gross motor skills development
    • Sensory processing and regulation
    • Self-care and daily living skills
    • Play, learning, and social participation
    • School readiness and classroom engagement
  • Recommend assistive equipment and environmental adaptations where appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, and community agencies
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary assessments and intervention planning
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and reports in accordance with professional standards
Requirements
  • Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • CORU registration (or eligibility for registration)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Desirable Experience
  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Previous experience in disability services, paediatrics, or community care
  • Knowledge of sensory processing, developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, and physical disabilities
  • Full driver’s licence and access to a car
