Bon Secours Health System Galway is inviting applications for an Occupational Therapist (Basic Grade) on a permanent 33 hours per week basis. The successful candidate will coordinate activity and resources within the Occupational Therapy department to deliver a holistic therapy service to patients.
The role requires CORU registration, strong clinical knowledge for acute and elderly patients, and experience in discharge planning with MDT input.

The post holder has a pivotal role in coordinating activity and resources within the Occupational Therapy department service, ensuring a holistic and appropriate therapy service is provided to patients. Responsibility for current service provision and development as part of the overall service planning and delivery.
The person holding this post is required to support the principle that the care of the patient always comes first and will approach their work with the flexibility and enthusiasm necessary to make this principle a reality for every patient to the greatest possible degree. Maintain throughout the Hospital awareness of the primacy of the patient in relation to all hospital activities. Be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and review of treatment / intervention programs for patients according to service standards. Communicate verbally and/ or in writing results of assessments, treatment/ intervention programs and recommendations to the team and relevant others in accordance with requirements. Attend ward rounds, team meetings, case conferences, clinics, etc. as designated by Senior Occupational Therapist/Occupational Therapy Manager
