Job summary

Beacon Hospital in Dublin is seeking an experienced Head of Nursing Informatics to lead nursing input into the EHR Modernisation Programme as MEDITECH Expanse goes live in 2028.

You will champion nursing practice, patient safety and frontline needs, translating clinical requirements into system designs and building a network of informatics leads to support change, education and go-live readiness.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or eligibility.
• Senior nursing leadership experience in an acute hospital environment.
• Strong understanding of acute hospital nursing workflows and clinical governance.
• Experience leading clinical change, quality improvement or service transformation.
• Credibility and communication skills to influence senior nursing and clinical colleagues.
• Experience engaging frontline teams and building support for organisational change.
• Knowledge of patient safety, clinical risk, data protection and information governance.
• Experience in nursing informatics, digital health or EHR implementation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior nursing champion for the EHR Modernisation Programme.
• Lead engagement with nursing, midwifery and healthcare assistant teams.
• Ensure nursing workflows and care processes are reflected in MEDITECH Expanse design.
• Build and lead a network of nursing informatics leads and clinical champions.
• Translate clinical nursing requirements into clear system and workflow specifications.
• Co-chair the Clinical and Operational Design Authority with the Medical Director of Clinical Informatics.
• Oversee nursing sign-off on future-state workflows and documentation.
• Support testing, training, readiness assessment, go-live and stabilisation.
• Drive measurable improvements in patient safety, clinical quality and nursing efficiency.
