Job summary

Bon Secours Hospital Limerick is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Quality and Patient Safety) to lead safe, person-centered care through audits, reviews and governance processes.

The role requires a live NMBI registration, at least five years of post-registration experience in acute care, and strong leadership and analytical abilities. The post supports accreditation readiness and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered General Nurse on the live NMBI register or eligible before start date.
• Demonstrated experience in quality assurance, clinical audit, patient-safety review and governance.
• Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to leadership and patient safety.
• Strong leadership, communication, organisation, analytical and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake concise, evidence-based chart reviews in line with hospital criteria and templates.
• Complete reviews related to incidents (e.g., falls, surgical site infections) and urgent safety concerns.
• Identify contributing factors, learning points and recommendations for further review or escalation.
• Escalate notifiable incidents and non-compliances promptly through governance routes.
• Monitor actions arising from reviews and verify completion and effectiveness.
• Support readiness for JCI accreditation and HIQA inspections and other regulatory requirements.
