Job summary

Respond is seeking a Nurse Manager for the Older Person's Day Care Centre at St. Francis Gardens, Blackpool, Cork. This fixed-term contract (1 year) is 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a salary between €48,000 and €51,000.

Qualifications

• Be registered in the General Division of the Live Register of Nurses maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar management position.
• A relevant third-level qualification is desirable.
• Demonstrate confidence and sympathy in dealing on a one-to-one and group basis with Service Users.
• Excellent IT skills e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
• Be outgoing, relaxed and enthusiastic.
• Ability to demonstrate leadership and organisational skills.
• Experience working with Older persons.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and participate in the Multi-disciplinary team attached to the Day Care Centre.
• Coordinate the provision of services required by older persons liaising with Physiotherapy, Dietetics, and Podiatry.
• Ensure that Day Care Places are filled.
• Organise nursing, care and support programmes daily.
• Take responsibility for admissions/discharge procedures.
• Establish and maintain records of attendance, nursing care, statistics, annual returns, and other information as requested.
• Manage and deploy Day Care Centre staff to maximize productivity and continuity of care.
• Carry out Performance Reviews with staff and conduct monthly feedback sessions.
• Develop care plans which are individual and regularly evaluated.
• Draft and implement standards, policies and procedures and ensure staff compliance.
• Liaise with families and friends of Service Users.
• Liaise with Medical services within the community (GP, Public Health Nurse).
• Arrange transport for Service Users.
