Job summary

Respond is seeking a Nurse Manager to oversee the Older Person’s Day Care Centre in Blackpool, Cork. You will lead the day-to-day operations, ensure high standards of nursing care, and manage admissions and staff.

This fixed-term 1-year contract (39 hours/week, Mon–Fri) offers a salary in the €48k–€51k range and opportunities to develop clinical leadership and teaching skills within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Be registered in the General Division of the Live Register of Nurses maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a similar management position.
• A relevant third-level qualification is desirable.
• Demonstrate leadership and organisational skills; excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage and participate in the Multi-disciplinary team attached to the Day Care Centre.
• Coordinate services required by older persons liaising with Physiotherapy, Dietetics, and Podiatry.
• Ensure Day Care Places are filled and maintain care plans.
• Organise nursing, care and support programmes daily.
• Lead admissions/discharges and maintain records as required.
• Manage and deploy Day Care Centre staff; conduct performance reviews.
• Develop care plans that are individual and regularly evaluated.
• Draft and implement standards, policies and procedures for staff to follow.
• Liaise with families and with Medical services.
• Arrange transport for service users.
