Job summary

Depaul Relief Worker in Ireland provides essential overnight support across housing projects, delivering food, safety, and practical care for residents. You work with trained staff to ensure shelter, dignity and a respectful environment for people experiencing homelessness.

The role requires a compassionate approach, knowledge of Housing First, and ability to respond quickly in crises while maintaining records and following Depaul policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in homelessness or related field.
• Qualification in social care Level 5+ essential.
• Knowledge of Housing First model.
• Competency with OTIS and PASS.

Responsibilities

• Meet practical needs of service users including food, laundry and bedding.
• Maintain a safe, secure environment and high service standards.
• Work with service users to earn trust and manage difficult situations.
• Carry out duties on specified rotas and contribute to handovers.
• Collaborate with staff to support residents during shifts.
• Maintain clear records for smooth service operation.
• Adhere to Depaul Ireland policies on Health & Safety and confidentiality.
• Respond calmly to service user needs, especially at night.
• Be flexible to cover other staff roles when needed.
