Job summary

Depaul is seeking a Relief Worker for Dublin Services to provide supported accommodation, food and shelter to residents on a 7-day rota. The role involves night shifts and on-site work, with an emphasis on safety, confidentiality and compassionate service delivery.

Applicants should have 1+ year in homelessness or a related field, or a Level 5+ social care qualification. IT proficiency and strong team collaboration are essential for success in this varied relief position.

Qualifications

• Experience in homelessness field or related area (1+ year)
• Level 5+ Social Care qualification essential
• Manual handling qualification desirable
• Understanding of harm reduction and health and safety in residential settings
• Proficient IT skills and professional email use

Responsibilities

• Meet practical needs of service users (food, laundry, bedding)
• Maintain a safe, secure environment
• Build trust with service users and handle sensitive situations
• Work on specific rotas and participate in handovers
• Collaborate with staff and make decisions in line with project team
• Maintain accurate records for smooth service operation
• Adhere to Depaul policies, including Health & Safety and confidentiality
• Uphold Depaul values and respond to service user safety concerns, including night shifts
