Job summary

Accountancy Solutions is seeking a Newly Qualified Accountant for an SME in Citywest, Dublin West. The role is permanent and reports to the Financial Controller, offering broad exposure across management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and statutory compliance.

You will support month-end close, group reporting and year-end audits while assisting with analysis, controls and cost management. Training and progression within a growing finance team are available.

Qualifications

• Recently qualified (ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA) with relevant practice or industry exposure.
• Experience producing management accounts and financial reports.
• Strong analytical approach and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Newly Qualified Accountant, SME, Citywest

Our client is a well-established and highly regarded SME organisation who are a subsidiary of a larger group. Due to an internal promotion, they are seeking a newly qualified Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified accountant to develop their career within a broad commercial finance role. The successful candidate will gain valuable exposure across management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, statutory compliance and financial analysis.

Role Responsibilities

• Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit margin reporting and variance analysis.
• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for group requirements.
• Assist with annual budgets and periodic forecasts, monitoring performance against targets.
• Maintain fixed asset records and assist with related reporting.
• Monitor and analyse overhead expenditure, identifying opportunities for improved cost control.
• Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and year-end audit requirements.
• Support the preparation of tax returns and other statutory compliance activities.
• Assist with monitoring impairment risks and maintaining appropriate financial controls.
• Develop and enhance management information and reporting for individual business units.
• Prepare financial analysis, evaluations and supporting reports as required.
• Process and authorise invoices, payments and electronic banking transactions in line with company procedures and controls.
• Liaise with external auditors and assist with responding to audit queries.
• Provide support and guidance to junior members of the finance team where required.
• Assist the Financial Controller with ad hoc projects, financial analysis and reporting requirements.

Candidate Profile

• Newly qualified or Finalist Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA).
• Previous experience in an industry environment is preferred.
• Experience preparing management accounts or financial reports.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to meeting deadlines.
• Good understanding of financial controls and accounting processes.
• Experience working with or supporting junior finance colleagues would be an advantage.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the business.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Self-motivated and organised, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
