Job summary

Accountancy Solutions is seeking a newly qualified Accountant to join our client’s finance team based in City West, Dublin. The role offers exposure to management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, statutory compliance and financial analysis.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will develop your career across a broad commercial finance remit and support junior colleagues in a dynamic environment in the Dublin area.

Qualifications

• Newly qualified or recently qualified accountant.
• Experience with management accounts and financial reporting is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts including margin reporting and variance analysis.
• Support preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for group requirements.
• Assist with budgets and forecasts; monitor performance against targets.
• Maintain fixed asset records and related reporting.
• Analyze overhead expenditure and identify cost control opportunities.
• Assist with statutory accounts and year-end audit requirements.
• Assist with tax returns and other statutory compliance activities.
• Contribute to monitoring impairment risks and financial controls.
• Develop and enhance management information and reporting for business units.
• Prepare financial analysis and supporting reports as required.
• Process and authorise invoices and payments per procedures.
• Liaise with external auditors and respond to audit queries.
• Provide guidance to junior finance team members.
• Assist the Financial Controller with ad hoc projects and reporting.

Our client is a well-established and highly regarded organisation operating within a specialised industry sector. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a newly qualified Accountant to join their finance team, based in City West.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified accountant to develop their career within a broad commercial finance role. The successful candidate will gain valuable exposure across management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, statutory compliance and financial analysis.

Previous experience preparing accounts within an industry or commercial environment would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit margin reporting and variance analysis.
• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for group requirements.
• Assist with annual budgets and periodic forecasts, monitoring performance against targets.
• Maintain fixed asset records and assist with related reporting.
• Monitor and analyse overhead expenditure, identifying opportunities for improved cost control.
• Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and year-end audit requirements.
• Support the preparation of tax returns and other statutory compliance activities.
• Assist with monitoring impairment risks and maintaining appropriate financial controls.
• Develop and enhance management information and reporting for individual business units.
• Prepare financial analysis, evaluations and supporting reports as required.
• Process and authorise invoices, payments and electronic banking transactions in line with company procedures and controls.
• Liaise with external auditors and assist with responding to audit queries.

Candidate Profile

• Newly qualified or recently qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA).
• Previous experience in a commercial or industry finance environment is preferred.
• Experience preparing management accounts or financial reports would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to meeting deadlines.
• Good understanding of financial controls and accounting processes.
• Experience working with or supporting junior finance colleagues would be an advantage.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the business.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Self-motivated and organised, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
