Job summary

EirGrid Group is seeking a seasoned Network Security Engineer to strengthen our security posture across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. You will design and implement secure network solutions, manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM tools, and contribute to incident response with a strong focus on automation and documentation.

You should have a technical discipline background, 10+ years of experience, and relevant cloud and Zero Trust knowledge.

Qualifications

• Qualification in a relevant technical discipline and typically 10 years’ experience in network security.
• Expertise in designing and implementing secure network infrastructures.
• Hands-on with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
• Knowledge of security protocols, cloud security (Azure), and security frameworks.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CCIE Security, or Azure Security.
• Experience with Zero Trust and SIEM tools.
• IAM in a network context.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure network solutions aligned with security policies.
• Configure and manage next-gen firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, and VPNs.
• Maintain secure connectivity across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Respond to security incidents escalated from Tier 1 SOC and engage stakeholders.
• Create and maintain runbooks; drive automation where possible.
• Manage micro-segmentation and WAF technologies.
• Support Blue Team during incidents or simulations.
• Document network security designs and procedures.
