Job summary
Kirby Group Engineering in Ireland is seeking an experienced MV Specialist Electrical Design Engineer to lead design and delivery of medium voltage power systems across major projects.
You will perform design, procurement, installation, testing and handover, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with BIM, construction and procurement teams to ensure compliant, buildable solutions for international markets.
Qualifications
- Experience in MV electrical design and power systems.
- Proven delivery of MV packages on large-scale projects.
- Proficient with ETAP, PSCAD, DIgSILENT and CDEGS.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, engineering and delivery of MV systems on major construction projects.
- Drive MV activities from design through procurement, installation and commissioning.
- Manage submittals, design reviews, equipment approvals and supply chain coordination.
- Perform power system modelling and studies with industry software.
- Review MV designs for IEC/IEEE compliance and client requirements.
- Collaborate with BIM, construction, commissioning and procurement teams.
- Support troubleshooting and provide technical leadership across projects.
- Manage vendors and stakeholders to ensure timely commissioning.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and standards.
- Mentor graduate and junior engineers.
