Job summary

Apleona in Mallow, Co Cork, seeks a Multitasking Home Attendant for weekend shifts. You will support residents with personal care, meals, mobility and safety, while maintaining dignity and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Carry out assigned duties (bathing, toileting), feeding, repositioning and use of equipment.
• Respond to emergencies and assist with safe resident transfer according to plans.

• Assist with meals per dietary needs and prepare drinks or snacks.
• Transport/escort residents as required and manage stocks, cleaning and laundry.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and ensure safe ward environment.

Job description

At Apleona , We are currently on the look out for talented and dynamic individuals to join our team . We currently have an opening for a Multitasking Home Attendant at our facility in Mallow Co Cork

Working Pattern: Friday-Saturday and Sunday shifts 15 Hours per week

Main duties and responsibilities

• Carry out assigned and delegated responsibilities (bathing/showering, toileting etc.), feeding, positioning, mobilisation of residents/ service users, fitting of equipment etc.
• Respond to emergency needs when they arise and facilitate the safe removal of residents in accordance with local Emergency plans.
• Respect residents/ service users and their families showing dignity, courtesy and professionalism at all times.
• Under direction of a relevant manager/professional assist residents/ service users in preparation for their meals ensuring resident/ service users dietary needs are met
• Assist residents/ service users to ensure their specific dietary requirements are met, encouraging residents/ service users to eat and drink, preparing special drinks and snacks
• Transport/escort residents/ service users within or outside the service area as necessary
• Assist with care of the deceased, preparation and transfer to the mortuary as required by line manager.
• Transport medical records, specimens, medical gases, equipment, medicines, stores, etc. within or outside the service when necessary.
• Be responsible for the general cleaning and disinfecting of resident/ service user equipment, wheelchairs, trolleys/beds, chairs or other ward/service equipment
• Assist with the management of stocks and supplies. attending to designated housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, waste management
• Vacuum carpets and mop/buff floors.clean toilets and polish glass/brass surfaces. collect and dispose of rubbish.
• Display safety signage during cleaning operations and report defects and safety issues promptly.
• Service of food and/or beverages and preparation of service area and/or service points
• Maintain personal hygiene, appearance, and uniform to company regulations always.
• Attend staff meetings, induction and mandatory in-service training courses
• Communicate clearly and effectively with all grades of staff and report any accidents, near misses or incidents
