Job summary

Smyths Toys is looking for a Social Media Content Creator to join our Marketing team in Ireland. You will manage end-to-end video production and social content across platforms, from ideation to publishing.

You should be confident on camera, skilled in mobile-first video editing (CapCut or similar), and able to analyse performance to inform strategy.

Salary is €35,000 per year with benefits including pension, life assurance, and staff discounts.

About The Role

Smyths Toys is looking for a Social Media Content Creator to join our Marketing team.

Salary - €35,000

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Full end-to-end production and analysing of videos. This includes but not limited to; creative ideation, scripting, shooting, editing, publishing content, analysing and reporting.
• Essential to be highly confident performing either side of the camera
• You must live and breathe TikTok! Find and react quickly to trends, sounds, formats, and cultural moments
• Astute knowledge of the platform's best practices
• Guide key stakeholders on content performance and strategy
• Communicate with buyers on what products are needed to be filmed.

Production & Shooting

• Source products, props, and in-store locations for shoots
• Travel to film content as required
• Shoot high-quality vertical video using mobile
• Highly confident performing in videos.
• Direct colleagues or contributors where needed

Editing & Post-Production

• Experienced CapCut user (or other mobile video editing tool) to edit videos, including captions, text overlays, sound, and pacing
• Optimise edits for retention, hook strength, and platform performance
• Maintain a consistent visual and tonal style

Publishing & Community

• Upload, schedule, and publish content natively on TikTok
• Write captions and apply relevant hashtags and sounds
• Monitor comments and engagement where required

Performance & Reporting

• Track and analyse content performance (views, watch time, engagement, retention)
• Identify patterns in high-performing vs low-performing content
• Report insights and recommendations back to senior stakeholders

The Ideal Candidate

Requirements

• Experience creating and managing social media content – TikTok, Snapchat, Reels, YT Shorts
• Strong video shooting and editing skills (mobile-first mindset essential)
• Comfortable performing either side of the camera
• Deep understanding of social media trends, formats, and algorithm behaviour
• Comfortable working independently and owning projects end-to-end
• Full driving licence (essential)
• Willingness to travel for filming

Nice to Have

• Experience working in retail, entertainment, or fast-paced consumer brands
• Familiarity with TikTok analytics and reporting tools
• Background in social-first content rather than traditional marketing
