Job summary

Merchants Quay Ireland is seeking a Project Worker for the Medically Supervised Injecting Facility (MSIF) at Riverbank, Dublin 8. You will support clients experiencing homelessness and co-existing mental health issues, delivering compassionate, evidence-based care under clinical supervision.

The role involves clinical and operational duties, incident de‑escalation, health promotion, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to improve outcomes for service users, in a safe and respectful

Qualifications

• Have a relevant qualification (minimum QQI Third Level 7 or equivalent) e.g. social care, addiction, community or youth work together with qualification/training in a mental health course, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and/or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Relapse Prevention.

Responsibilities

• Observe and monitor client wellbeing during visits to MSIF.
• Engage with clients to identify health needs and refer to multidisciplinary team.
• Provide interventions for safer injecting and health promotion.
• Record observations and interactions in MSIF forms/database.
• Maintain safe, therapeutic environment following clinical and IPC protocols.
• Participate in quality improvement, training, and audits.
