Job summary

Old Church Vets in Donegal is seeking a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join our established and progressive team. The role offers a genuine mixed caseload across companion animal medicine and surgery, with farm animal work and occasional equine cases.

You will be part of a supportive eight-veterinary-surgeon team with modern facilities and opportunities for professional development. Competitive salary from €50,000+ DOE, with a strong emphasis on work–life balance.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be registered, or eligible to register, with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI).
• Previous experience in mixed practice is desirable, although we are open to considering candidates with strong experience in either farm animal or companion animal practice who are keen to maintain and develop mixed practice skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out companion animal consultations, diagnostics and surgery as part of a mixed caseload.
• Work with local farming clients, predominantly in suckler beef and sheep enterprises, and occasionally see equine cases.
• Maintain a high standard of clinical care and collaborate with eight veterinary surgeons, five nurses and support staff.
