Job summary

ALS is seeking a Microbiology Lab Technician in Clonmel to join our team and contribute to quality through shift-based tasks at Carrigeen Business Park, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary (In-person).

Starting salary is €31,000 with a rise within 6 months based on performance, plus a shift allowance for those on shift patterns. Requires a science degree, PC literacy, and an interest in food science; you will thrive in a fast-paced team with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Science or related discipline.
• Experience in laboratory testing would be a distinct advantage but is not essential.
• Excellent standards of PC literacy (Excel, Word).
• Analytical and logical approach with a keen eye for detail.
• Keen interest on food science and food safety.
• Able to thrive under pressure and work as part of team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• To perform work as allocated by Shift Supervisor to the high standards of quality required and to inform Shift Supervisor in cases of doubtful validity of results.
• To ensure that agreed quality systems are continually adhered to such as calibration checks, internal quality controls, daily checks, and spiked samples.
• As a member of the team, to ensure that laboratory areas are kept tidy, especially designated area.
• Ensure all operations are carried out in a safe manner with due regard and compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and procedures.
• Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times with respect to customer information.
• Perform other duties as required.
