Job summary

STERIS in Ireland is seeking a Laboratory Technician I to support testing and analysis of customer samples across multiple test areas, using a range of equipment.

You will follow quality procedures, maintain accurate records, and help ensure timely service to customers while upholding GDP and ISO requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Science is required.
• 3 years’ experience in a laboratory environment preferred.
• Knowledge of GLP is required.

Responsibilities

• Complete testing of customer samples adhering to procedures and requirements.
• Perform microbiology and chemistry procedures including aseptic techniques and endotoxin testing.
• Operate equipment such as autoclaves, incubators, pH meters, and spectrometers.
• Maintain and monitor laboratory consumables ensuring FIFO where applicable.
• Generate certificates of analysis for customer samples, on time and accurately.
• Ensure daily tasks are completed to meet on-time delivery targets.
• Communicate with senior staff to raise issues promptly.
• Perform routine quality control checks and calibrate equipment.
• Maintain GDP-compliant records, protocols, and test reports.
• Keep laboratory areas clean and dispose of waste per policy.
