Job summary

CLS - Complete Laboratory Solutions in Limerick is seeking a dynamic Microbiology Lab Supervisor to lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment. You will oversee daily testing, ensure GMP and ISO compliance, and drive quality improvements.

You will mentor microbiologists, manage scheduling and CAPA investigations, and collaborate with QA, Production and R&D to meet project timelines while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Microbiology or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a microbiology lab.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, ISO standards, and regulatory compliance in pharma or medical devices.
• Experience leading teams and managing lab processes.
• Experience troubleshooting lab issues and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the microbiology lab, ensuring testing is completed accurately and on time.
• Lead, train, and mentor a team of microbiologists, providing guidance in their development.
• Ensure compliance with GMP and ISO quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage lab scheduling, resource allocation, and prioritisation of testing to meet deadlines.
• Conduct performance reviews and develop training plans for the team.
• Oversee environmental monitoring, sterility and bioburden testing per SOPs.
• Lead investigations into out-of-spec results and implement CAPA actions.
• Collaborate with Quality, Production and R&D to align on goals and timelines.
• Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated to standards.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive continuous improvement.
