Job summary

Abbott Ireland is seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor to lead the team on rotating days and evenings, driving product quality, regulatory compliance, and batch release in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Microbiology or a General Science discipline is preferred.
• Minimum 18 months to 2 years people-management experience in a microbiology lab.
• Experience in a microbiology laboratory within a regulated environment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: lead, coach, and develop a team of Microbiology Technicians.
• Laboratory Operations: oversee microbiological testing for batch release, environmental monitoring, raw materials and finished products.
• Quality & Compliance: ensure GMP/GLP, quality systems and regulatory requirements; support audits.
• Continuous Improvement: drive improvements in lab processes and testing efficiency.
• Health & Safety: champion safety and adherence to EHS requirements.
