Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking an experienced MES Integration Engineer to support the delivery of greenfield and brownfield manufacturing projects in Dublin. You will integrate MES, automation, equipment and enterprise systems within a GMP environment, contributing to the design, testing and validation of next-generation manufacturing solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering MES integration projects within pharmaceutical or regulated environments.
• Experience with PAS-X, Syncade, PharmaSuite or similar MES platforms.
• Strong knowledge of systems integration and automation architectures.
• Experience with PLC, SCADA, Historian and IT/OT environments.
• Familiarity with CSV validation and data integrity requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support integrations between MES platforms, equipment, automation systems, and enterprise applications.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver integration solutions.
• Develop and manage equipment connectivity, interfaces, APIs, middleware, and data flows.
• Support MES implementation, configuration, testing, deployment, and readiness activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues across MES, databases, and connected apps.
• Create technical documentation including specs, interface designs, test scripts, and validation docs.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, qualification, and CSV activities.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, GxP, Data Integrity, Quality and Validation.
• Contribute to integration standards and continuous improvement initiatives.

I'm seeking an experiencedMES Integration Engineer to support the delivery of both greenfield and brownfield manufacturing projects, integrating MES, automation, equipment, and enterprise systems within a highly regulated GMP environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to work client-side on a long-term investment programme, with several years of planned project scope ahead. The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation and integration of next-generation manufacturing technologies across a complex pharmaceutical facility, helping to shape the future of digital manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and support integrations between MES platforms, manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and enterprise applications.
• Coordinate with Automation, Manufacturing, IT/OT, Quality, Engineering, Validation, and vendor teams to define and deliver integration solutions.
• Develop and manage equipment connectivity, interfaces, APIs, middleware solutions, and manufacturing data flows.
• Support MES system implementation, configuration, testing, deployment, and operational readiness activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues involving MES, databases, automation systems, and connected applications.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation including functional specifications, interface design documentation, test scripts, and validation documentation.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, qualification, and CSV activities.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with GMP, GxP, Data Integrity, Quality, and Validation requirements.
• Contribute to integration standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Successful Candidate Should Demonstrate:

• Experience delivering MES integration projects within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience with PAS-X, Syncade, PharmaSuite, or similar MES platforms.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems integration, equipment connectivity, and automation architectures.
• Experience with APIs, middleware technologies, OPC/OPC UA, and manufacturing communication protocols.
• Understanding of PLC, SCADA, Historian, and IT/OT environments.
• Experience with SQL databases and data integration.
• Familiarity with Computer System Validation (CSV), commissioning, qualification, and GMP requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and vendor organisations.
