Job summary

Cognizant Life Sciences Manufacturing in Ireland seeks a Digital Plant MES Automation Engineer to develop reliable MES systems and master recipes aligned with High Product Quality and Lean Manufacturing.

The role includes MES recipe authoring, testing and validation, and administration of interfaces with SAP/LIMS/DeltaV, plus knowledge of MES Syncade or PASX. Collaboration and project management skills are essential in a fast‑paced pharma setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or Life Sciences.
• At least 3 years experience as an MES Engineer.
• Experience with MES System Design, Configuration and Application in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries.

Responsibilities

• Performing MES recipe authoring activities to ensure appropriate MES content and changes to meet facility goals of High Product Quality and Lean Manufacturing.
• Participating in testing and computer system validation of the MES Recipes and related configuration.
• Actively participating in the creation of MES deliverables such as design documents and validation activities.
• MES System administration to third party interfaces e.g., SAP/LIMS/DeltaV.
• MES System Syncade build Equipment, Material management, Reports, Inventory Management.
• Application delivery of digital capabilities of MES and interfaces (SAP ERP, LIMS, CMMS, DCS).
• Knowledge of MES Syncade (Emerson) or equivalent MES platforms e.g. PASX.
• Strong communication and collaboration across levels; excellent organization and planning.
• Problem solving, critical thinking and project management; team-oriented and adaptable.

Position Summary:

The Digital Plant MES Automation Engineer is responsible for developing reliable and robust MES system and master recipes to meet process requirements to ensure appropriate MES content and changes to meet the facility goals of High Product Quality and Lean Manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performing MES recipe authoring activities to ensure appropriate MES content and changes to meet the facility goals of High Product Quality and Lean Manufacturing.
• Participating in the testing and computer system validation of the MES Recipes and related configuration.
• Actively participating in the creation of MES deliverables such as design documents and validation activities.
• MES System administration to third party interfaces e.g., SAP/LIMS/DeltaV.
• MES System Syncade build Equipment, Material management, Reports, Inventory Management.
• Application delivery of digital capabilities of MES and its respective interfaces (SAP ERP, LIMS, CMMS, DCS).
• Knowledge of MES Syncade (Emerson) or an equivalent MES Platforms e.g. PASX.
• A proficiency communicating and collaborating at a variety of levels.
• Excellent organisation and planning skills.
• Problem solving, critical thinking and project management ability.
• Proven success of working well in a team environment with flexibility to react to changing business needs.
• Knowledge of Visual basic and Microsoft SQL Server desired.

Required Qualification(s) and Desired Experience:

• Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or Life Sciences.
• At least 3 years experience as an MES Engineer
• Experience with MES System Design, Configuration and Application of business processes in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
