Job summary

Astute's Power Team is partnering with a global energy-from-waste organisation to recruit a Mechanical Technician for their Dublin, Ireland site. The role offers a competitive basic salary with overtime, bonus and benefits.

You will fault-find and maintain mechanical assets such as boilers, pumps and gearboxes, work to best maintenance practices, and support outage planning while ensuring CMMS records are accurate.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline such as Mechanical Engineering.
• IOSH or similar health and safety qualification is highly advantageous.
• Hands-on maintenance experience with mechanical systems including boilers, pumps, gearboxes and valves.

Responsibilities

• Fault finding and maintaining mechanical assets including steam boilers, pumps, gearboxes, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics, and compressed air systems.
• Ensure compliance with pressure regulations and lifting gear inspection requirements.
• Assist in outage planning, scheduling and coordination; maintain CMMS records.

Astute's Power Team is partnered with a global organisation who specialise in the Energy from Waste industry to recruit for a Mechanical Technician to join their Energy from Waste Power Station in Dublin, Ireland.

The vital Mechanical Technician comes with a competitive basic salary + overtime + bonus + benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Mechanical Technician role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor you will be responsible for:

• Fault finding and maintaining mechanical assets including steam boilers, pumps, gearboxes, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressed air systems, etc.
• Working in line with maintenance techniques and best practices
• To ensure compliance with the pressure regulations and lifting gear inspection requirements
• Assisting in plant developments and projects
• Supervising and setting to work on site contractors
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records on the site Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Assist in outage planning, scheduling and coordination
• To ensure the availability of plant spares

Professional qualifications

• Ideally have an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in a relevant engineering discipline such as Mechanical Engineering
• A health and safety qualification such as an IOSH will be highly advantageous

Personal Skills and prior experience

• Hands on maintenance experience with mechanical systems including, boilers, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, cranes etc
• Practical knowledge of process plant and equipment gained in a heavy engineering environment such as power generation, petrochemical, steel works, CHP plant, paper mill etc.
• Royal/Merchant Navy Marine Engineers will also be considered for this opportunity
