Job summary

Weltec Engineering Ltd. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor for a pharmaceutical project in Cork.

You will report to the Project Manager and oversee mechanical works on site, coordinating teams and subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery, quality standards, and safe operations. The role requires a minimum of 5 years in a mechanical supervisory position, strong leadership, and on-site management experience in pharma, life sciences, or process environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in a Mechanical Supervisor role or similar.
• Experience leading diverse teams on-site.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, industrial or process environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all mechanical installations to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Manage and coordinate activities of specialist sub-contractors to maintain schedules and quality.
• Attend and contribute to weekly site progress meetings, monitor contractor performance, and drive continuous improvement.
• Handle day-to-day site operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Set, monitor, and achieve project milestones and deliverables with technical proficiency.
• Conduct on-site toolbox talks to promote team safety and operational efficiency.
• Order necessary materials, liaise with suppliers regarding deliveries and costs, and ensure timely availability of resources.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with all project stakeholders, fostering a collaborative project environment.
• Ensure adherence to EHS and quality standards on site.

Mechanical Supervisor

Role / Requirements:

Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join our team on a pharmaceutical project in Cork. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Mechanical Supervisor will play a key role in overseeing mechanical works on site, coordinating teams and subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supervisor with a background in mechanical construction within pharmaceutical, life sciences, industrial or process environments to join a busy project team and play an important role in the successful delivery of the project.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Oversee all mechanical installations to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Manage and coordinate the activities of specialist sub-contractors to maintain project schedules and quality.

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Minimum of 5 years in a Mechanical Supervisor role or similar, with a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Windows, MS Office, Excel, and project management software.
• Excellent professional references attesting to previous project successes and leadership capabilities.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry is advantageous but not essential.
