Job summary

Weltec Engineering is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join our team on a pharmaceutical project in Cork. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will oversee mechanical installations on site, coordinate subcontractors, and drive safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a mechanical supervision role, strong leadership, and proficiency with MS Office and project management tools. Pharmaceutical experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in a Mechanical Supervisor role or similar.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Strong computer skills including Windows, MS Office, Excel, and project management software.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all mechanical installations to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Manage and coordinate the activities of specialist sub-contractors to maintain project schedules and quality.
• Attend and contribute to weekly site progress meetings, monitor daily contractor performance, and drive continuous improvement.
• Handle day-to-day site operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Set, monitor, and achieve project milestones and deliverables with technical proficiency.
• Conduct on-site toolbox talks to promote team safety and operational efficiency.
• Order necessary materials, liaise with suppliers regarding deliveries and costs, and ensure timely availability of resources.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with all project stakeholders, fostering a collaborative project environment.
• Ensure adherence to Weltec's Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS), and quality standards on site, promoting a culture of safety and excellence.

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Mechanical Supervisor will play a key role in overseeing mechanical works on site, coordinating teams and subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supervisor with a background in mechanical construction within pharmaceutical, life sciences, industrial or process environments to join a busy project team and play an important role in the successful delivery of the project.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Excellent professional references attesting to previous project successes and leadership capabilities.

Experience in the semiconductor industry is advantageous but not essential.
