Job summary

Weltec is seeking an experienced EHS Officer to join our team in the Kildare region. You will work with the EHS Manager to ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental regulations throughout project execution.

You will develop method statements, perform audits, and drive a culture of safety excellence across construction sites. The role offers training, development opportunities, and a collaborative environment within a leading engineering contractor.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of proven experience as an EHS Officer, preferably in construction.
• Experience in Principal Contractor and PSCS roles is advantageous.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to ensure project EHS compliance.
• Develop Method Statements and Risk Assessments with supervisors.
• Conduct EHS audits and investigations, implementing corrective actions.
• Provide guidance on site-specific EHS best practices to management.
• Plan and deliver toolbox talks and training sessions.
• Report EHS performance metrics as required.
• Enforce company EHS policies and procedures.
• Support the EHS department and fellow EHS Officers as needed.

We are currently seeking an experienced EHS Officer to join our team and contribute to our projects in the Kildare region.

The EHS Officer will collaborate closely with the EHS Manager/Site Project Manager to ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations throughout project execution. This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact by implementing best practices, conducting audits, and fostering a culture of safety excellence.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Collaborate with clients to ensure project compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
• Develop Method Statements and Risk Assessments in coordination with supervisors/foremen.
• Conduct EHS audits and Accident/Incident investigations, implementing corrective and preventive measures.
• Provide guidance to Project Management on site-specific EHS best practices.
• Plan and deliver training sessions, including Toolbox Talks, to promote a safety-oriented culture.
• Report on EHS performance metrics as required.
• Actively promote and enforce company EHS policies and procedures.
• Provide support to the EHS department and collaborate with fellow EHS Officers as needed.

Key Skills and Competencies:

• A Level 7 or level 8 qualification in Health and Safety is preferred.
• Minimum of five years of proven experience as an EHS Officer, preferably in a construction environment.
• Experience in Principal Contractor and PSCS roles would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with high-compliance environments such as Pharma, Med/Tech, or similar industries.
• Knowledge of Integrated Management Systems, including ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with project stakeholders.
• Proactive mindset with a customer-focused approach.
• Excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Word and Excel.
