Role Overview
JCPS is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee and coordinate a team of approximately 20 plumbers on a busy construction/project site in Cork. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all plumbing and mechanical installation activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining programme targets and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage a team of 20 plumbers and associated subcontractors.
- Coordinate daily mechanical and plumbing installation activities.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Plan labour requirements and allocate resources effectively to meet programme deadlines.
- Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
- Monitor productivity and resolve site issues to minimise delays.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, and other trades to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
- Manage materials, tools, and equipment requirements for the workforce.
- Complete site reports, progress updates, and documentation as required.
- Support commissioning, testing, and system handover activities.
Candidate Requirements
- Trade Qualified Plumber or Mechanical Trade Background.
- Previous experience in a Mechanical Supervisor, Foreman, or Lead Plumber position.
- Experience supervising large plumbing/mechanical teams on industrial, pharmaceutical, commercial, or large-scale construction projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical services installations.
- Proven ability to manage labour productivity and site programmes.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong focus on Health & Safety and quality standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Competent in reporting and record keeping.
Desirable
- Experience working on pharmaceutical, life sciences, or data centre projects.
- SSSTS, SMSTS, Safe Pass, or equivalent supervisory safety qualifications.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience with commissioning and handover processes.
