Leo Lynch in Ireland is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead complex engineering and construction projects across pharmaceutical, semiconductor, and healthcare sectors. You will manage budgets, schedules, and client relations, while coordinating with design, engineering, QA, and procurement teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The role requires aMechanical Engineering degree and 5+ years of project/contract management experience with a mechanical contractor, with travel across Europe

Qualifications

  • Mechanical background with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project/Contracts Manager delivering commercial, industrial, or healthcare construction projects.
  • Extensive experience working with a Mechanical contractor.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical and Process systems, including design, installation, and operation.
  • Excellent project management skills including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client, supplier, and subcontractor relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel within Europe and hold a full driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Control all aspects of selected projects, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling from conception to completion.
  • Coordinate with design and engineering teams to meet client specifications and deliver on time and within budget.
  • Track progress using Leo Lynch systems and ensure team compliance.
  • Monitor cross-disciplinary collaboration (BIM/Engineering/QA/Procurement) and resolve issues.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify issues, and ensure safety and quality standards.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors and negotiate contracts as needed.
  • Manage financial aspects including cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and relevant codes and standards.

About The Role

Due to ongoing expansion and investment Leo Lynch is looking for a Mechanical Project Manager who is a self-starter with strong management skills and can anticipate issues and develop appropriate contingency measures. Responsibilities
  • Control all aspects of selected projects, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling of projects from conception to completion.
  • Coordinate with design and engineering teams to ensure that all projects meet client specifications and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Employing Leo Lynch systems to track and monitor project progress and ensuring that all of the project team are compliant with these systems.
  • Ensuring that all disciplines of the project team are working effectively and have the ability to resolve issues in each department as they arise (BIM/Engineering/QA/Procurement)
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, identify and resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, and negotiate contracts and agreements as needed.
  • Manage the financial aspects of each project, including cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Ensure that all work complies with relevant legislation, codes, and standards, including health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure structures are put in place to monitor, review, and control the budgeted or agreed expenditure.
  • Implement cost and value procedures and ensure that all necessary commercial reports are produced accurately and in a timely fashion to Senior Management.
  • Work closely with the Directors and Site Managers to support and recommend strategies, to identify any potential risks or issues and to find an appropriate resolution.
  • Issue weekly progress reports to the client and engineering manager.
  • Issue monthly progress reports for Senior Management/Directors.
  • Work collaboratively with Senior Management / Directors to continue to achieve business needs.
  • Foster productive, collaborative partnerships with internal and external Clients.
Candidate Requirements
  • A mechanical background with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project/Contracts Manager delivering Commercial, industrial, or healthcare construction projects, with a background as a mechanical project engineer for 5+ years.
  • Extensive experience working with a Mechanical contractor is essential.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical and Process systems, including their design, installation, and operation.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to travel within Europe on occasion.
  • A full driving licence.
