Cpl Healthcare client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter / Fabricator to join their manufacturing team in Ireland. The role covers maintenance, repairs, fabrication, and supporting improvements to keep plant operations safe and efficient.

You will read drawings, weld with MIG/TIG/Arc, and work across production, engineering and maintenance to resolve issues and drive reliability. Additional responsibilities include safety compliance, routine inspections, and maintaining maintenance records

Qualifications

  • Qualified Mechanical Fitter with appropriate trade certification.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Proficient in MIG, TIG and arc welding techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and installation of production equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and improve equipment reliability.
  • Fabricate components using mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter / Fabricator to join their manufacturing team. This role involves maintaining and repairing production equipment, carrying out fabrication work, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and supporting continuous improvements to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installation of production line and facility equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Fabricate components, brackets, guards, railings, and other items using mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
  • Carry out welding and metalwork activities using MIG, TIG, and Arc welding techniques.
  • Assemble, align, and fit mechanical components including bearings, shafts, couplings, gearboxes, conveyors, and pumps.
  • Complete routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities in line with maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements and safe working practices.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work completed, replacement parts used, and equipment history.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues and drive improvements.
Requirements
  • Qualified Mechanical Fitter, Fabricator, or equivalent mechanical trade certification.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Proficiency in welding and metal fabrication techniques (MIG, TIG, and Arc welding).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication blueprints.
  • Good understanding of maintenance safety procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Flexible approach with the ability to respond to changing priorities and unexpected breakdowns.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
Desirable:
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Machine shop experience including lathe, milling, and surface grinding.
  • Forklift and/or MEWP licence.
