Job summary

SRG is seeking an experienced Mechanical Authorised Person (AP) to join a high-performing team in a mission-critical Data Centre environment in Dublin. The role focuses on safe operation of critical mechanical systems, alarm response, site inspections and documentation across shift teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience in mission-critical, data centre, power generation or industrial environments.
  • NFQ Level 6 or equivalent mechanical qualification.
  • Understanding of LOTO, hazardous energy and permit-to-work systems.
  • Experience with engineering systems and maintenance activities.
  • Good IT literacy and documentation skills.
  • CMMS experience desirable.
  • Engineering degree is advantageous but not essential.
  • Willingness to work shift-based schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor critical mechanical assets and respond to alarms.
  • Manage permits, isolations and LOTO procedures.
  • Oversee third-party contractors and maintenance activities.
  • Support planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records.
  • Follow and support SOPs/EOPs and SLA-driven requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company standards.

SRG is looking for an experienced Mechanical Authorised Person (AP) to join a high-performing team operating within a mission-critical Data Centre environment in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Mechanical Engineer/Technician who enjoys working in a critical environment where safety, reliability, operational excellence and quick decision-making are essential.

The Role

As a Shift Operations Mechanical AP, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of critical mechanical and engineering systems. You will monitor assets, respond to alarms and events, conduct site inspections, support maintenance activities and ensure continuity of operations across shift teams.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Monitoring critical mechanical and engineering assets
  • Responding to BMS alarms and emergency events
  • Carrying out daily site inspections
  • Managing permits, isolations and LOTO procedures
  • Overseeing third-party contractors and maintenance activities
  • Supporting planned and reactive maintenance
  • Maintaining accurate operational and maintenance records
  • Following and supporting the development of SOPs/EOPs
  • Working within SLA-driven operational requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with safety procedures, legislation and company standards
What We’re Looking For
We’re interested in candidates with:
  • Previous experience in a mission-critical, Data Centre, power generation or industrial environment
  • Mechanical/technical qualification such as NFQ Level 6 or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of LOTO, hazardous energy and permit-to-work systems
  • Experience working with engineering systems and maintenance activities
  • Good IT literacy and documentation skills
  • Ability to interpret data, respond to alarms and follow emergency procedures
  • CMMS experience is desirable
  • Engineering Degree is advantageous but not essential
  • Flexibility and willingness to work a shift-based schedule
