Job summary

Synergy Recruitment Partners seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Shift Engineer (AP) to support Data Centre Operations and ensure best-in-class operation of critical power generation sites.

You will monitor M&E systems, implement SSOW procedures, perform equipment checks, and manage shift handovers in a mission-critical environment. The role requires experience in power/critical facilities and strong LOTO, BMS, and CMMS knowledge.

Qualifications

• NFQ Level 6 (Tradesperson) in Mechanical or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a mission-critical or power generation environment is essential.
• Sound understanding of LOTO, hazardous energy, permit systems, and BMS monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Inspect site M&E systems daily, monitor BMS alarms, and execute safety procedures.
• Manage incident notifications, perform root-cause troubleshooting, and escalate issues per SLAs.
• Oversee third-party vendors, manage LOTO practices, and issue permits to work with high safety standards.
• Maintain CMMS records, produce performance reports, and conduct shift handovers.

Job description

Excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Shift Engineer (AP), for a key role in Data Centre Operations to provides best in class operation and maintenance for in critical power generation sites.

The role focuses on system monitoring, implementation of procedures and SSOW, equipment checks and system maintenance and repairs for the client equipment in a mission critical environment.

The role would suit a candidate with experience primarily within power generation environment who possesses the skills necessary to effectively interpret data from multiple sources, react promptly to event notifications and follow established procedures to rectify and escalat, in line with contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operations & Monitoring: Inspect site M&E systems daily, monitor BMS alarms, and execute emergency operating procedures to maintain safe, optimal environmental conditions.
• Incidents & SLAs: Manage incoming event notifications, perform root-cause troubleshooting, and escalat issues in line with contractual SLAs.
• Safety & Vendor Control: Oversee third-party vendors, manage LOTO practices, and issue permits to work while maintaining high safety and compliance standards.
• Shift Support & Reporting: Maintain accurate CMMS records, produce performance reports, assist maintenance teams, and conduct thorough shift handovers.

Requirements

• Qualifications: NFQ Level 6 (Tradesperson) or equivalent in a Mechanical discipline. An Engineering degree is desirable but not essential.
• Experience: Proven track record in a mission-critical or power generation environment.
• Technical Skills: Sound understanding of LOTO, hazardous energy, permit systems, and BMS monitoring.
• Core Competencies: Strong IT literacy (SOP/EOP writing), familiarity with CMMS platforms, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced shift environment.
