Job summary

EPS Group is actively recruiting a Mechanical Fitter for our Service and Repairs division. You will install and service mechanical equipment on water and wastewater contracting sites, and on some Industrial sites, ensuring maintenance and fault-finding are performed to a high standard.

You will work with pumps, blowers, screens and gearboxes, carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, with a focus on safety and quality. A Full EU/Irish driving licence is required to operate across sites.

Qualifications

  • Qualified MechanicalFitter/PlantFitter/Mechanic.
  • Similar relevant experience will be considered.
  • Full EU/ Irish driving licence required.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical installation and service of pumps, blowers, screens, gearboxes and other assets.
  • Perform routine preventive and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical plant.
  • Identify mechanical faults and determine parts required for repair.
  • Present completed tasks to the job supervisor with accurate reporting.
  • Coordinate with site teams and request manuals or part lists ahead of visits as needed.
  • Supervise onsite mechanical and electrical works to ensure safety, quality and timeliness.
  • Arrange shared equipment and tools as required for each job.

Job description

About the Role

EPS Group are actively recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter. In your role as Fitter for the Service and Repairs division you will be responsible for the installation and service of mechanical equipment on our water and wastewater contracting sites along with some of our Industrial sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out mechanical installation and service of all types of pumps, blowers, screens, gearboxes and other mechanical assets in the water and wastewater industry
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical plant operations and be able to carry out routine planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance
  • Clearly identify mechanical faults and identify how to resolve the fault, including identifying parts required
  • Evidence that tasks you have been assigned are completed should be presented to the relevant person running the job
  • For plant items that you are not familiar with, where practical you are expected to request O&M manuals and part list in advance of attending site to investigate fault or carryout planned service
  • Mechanical and electrical supervision role for onsite works unless otherwise confirmed to you for specific jobs and are responsible for that job been completed in an efficient manner and in the time allocated, without any compromise on health, safety or quality
  • Identifying what shared equipment (Confined Space equipment, Hiab, shared tools etc) you need for carrying out specific jobs and for organising to have this equipment left out for you to collect
  • Completing daily reports where required, clearly identifying works that took place, materials used and time on site

  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and manuals
  • Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and fix mechanical issues
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in performing maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Teamwork: Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team with the support from the Service division in Mallow head office
