Job summary

Jones Engineering invites applications for a 6- to 12-month Mechanical Engineer work placement in Dublin and nearby regions. The role involves procurement liaison, assisting construction teams, and preparing handover packs alongside the design and QA teams.

You will gain practical experience across RFIs, technical submittals, registers, and trackers while contributing to project delivery and close collaboration with project management.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a third-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong communication and organisation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office systems is required.
• Knowledge of a contracting environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Engage with suppliers and specialist contractors for procurement.
• Assist construction teams and QA/QC personnel.
• Prepare handover packs and trackers; generate RFIs and submittals.
• Liaise with design team, consultants and construction management.
• Assist in tracking progress and issuing weekly reports.
• Attend weekly construction, design, and permit meetings.
