Job summary

Global Professional Consultants is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to work on a hyperscale Data Centre project in Horndal, Sweden, for a leading engineering contractor. The role focuses on developing mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

You will oversee preconstruction, procurement coordination, site inspections, and documentation control, with a willingness to travel in-country and participate in CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical engineering, construction, or trade qualified.
• 3+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience with a main contractor.
• Experience in Data Centre or high-tech sectors preferred.
• Strong communicator with excellent verbal, written, and cloud-based communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) to meet project requirements while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Oversee preconstruction activities, including health & safety, technical submissions, construction drawings, and project commissioning.
• Conduct site inspections, monitor progress, and ensure installations meet quality standards and regulatory compliance.
• Manage procurement for mechanical packages and coordinate plant package reviews with the Procurement Manager.
• Collaborate with project teams to maintain schedules and deliver high-quality service.
• Coordinate mechanical services and builder’s work drawings with the Site/Project Manager.
• Oversee document control, including drawings, RFIs, Tech Sub Logs, schedules, and QA Packs.
• Support commissioning, subcontractor coordination, and certification uploads.
